elevated tYPkM With deep sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our loving mother and Nonna and Bis Nonna. Vincenza passed peacefully with her daughters by her side, at the age of 93. The Lord called Vincenza on June 4, 2021. She has been reunited with the love of her life, loving husband Joe (2017) of 64 years. (December 6, 1952). Dear daughter to the late Rocco and Domenica Zambardo, born in Termini Imerese, Sicily. Vincenza is predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Rocco Zambardo (Maria), Ignazio Zambardo (Maria), Francesca Serio (Damiano), Carmelina Mercurio (Domenico), Antonina Capone (Giuseppe) and Giuseppe Zambardo. Daughter in Law to the late Giuseppe and Provvidenza Caruso.
elevated tYPkM In 1954, she arrived to Canada with her fist baby girl (Providenza), at the age of 6 months. They settled in Scarborough, to raise their family of 3 girls. This is where they fulfilled their dream of owning their own business, and worked side by side (Caruso’s Fruit Market 1954-1982). Long time parishioners of St. Theresa Shrine of the Little Flower Church, since 1954. Mom was devoted to her loving husband and children. Her countless stories of growing up in Sicily during the war and moving to Canada will never be forgotten. She shared those stories with us until she was too tired to speak. Leaves behind countless memories, of love, respect, hardships and joys. Vincenza was a women of faith and she, along her husband Joe, were members of the Confraternita dell’ Immacolata of Toronto, an example of their deep faith for the Devine Immaculate Mary.
elevated tYPkM She leaves behind, her loving children, Providenza (husband Nello), Mimi (husband Joe), and Josephine (husband Roy). Their Grandchildren Bruno (wife Rose), Josie, Anthony (Amanda), Marco and Marisa. Great grand children Victoria, Antonella, and Maria who will miss their Nonna V. Survived by her sister- in -law, Agostina Caldera (late Agostino Caldera). She will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews, cousins, God children and dear friends. Know that she graciously appreciated every telephone call that she received.

Hi Josie,
I’m deeply sorry for your loss and you have my greatest sympathy. Remember all the happy memories with her, and take care.
Josie, Roy, Marco & Marisa
We are so sorry for the loss of your mother and nonna. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
‘Parina’ Caruso was truly a very special lady.
She was our aunt, and my elder sister’s (Lina’s) baptismal ‘Godmother’ (‘Parina’ in the ‘Terminese’ dialect), but we all started calling her ‘Parina’ from a very young age, as if she was also our own godmother — such was our deep affection for her.
She was a most generous, friendly and kind lady — and always looking on the bright side of things.
And, she once saved me from from being trapped in a ‘chair stockade’ (Provy and Mimi will remember) when I was a very young boy.
🙂

So much goodness, so much love — like a second mother.
Hard to believe that she’s gone!
“Buon Riposo, Parina!”
“Ti volemo tutti tanto bene!!”
Our deepest condolences to all of you for the loss of your mother/Nonna.
May she rest in eternal peace.
Hugs, Cecilia and Nino Indovina

Love Rosemary, Robert, Luca and Madison.
I am saddened by the loss of my aunt, Zia Vicenzina. I will never forget when I arrived in Canada in 1968, leaving my hometown of Termini Imerese, Sicily. Zia Vincenzina took me into her home, I was treated with the most highly respect. I will never forget her hard work, working in a family owned business seven days a week, at the same time taking care of her immediate family and I. I will never forget the great meals she made, doing my laundry and taking care of me, just like my own mother. We went on many outings celebrating many occasions all together, the family and I. I am going to miss our occasional phone calls and visits. Zia Vincenzina will be forever missed in my heart, with love Cosimo and Family!
So sorry for your loss Josie. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. God Bless.
