elevated wSEkS September 13, 1951-April 14, 2019
elevated wSEkS Jim was born in Casteltermini, Sicily, and immigrated to Canada in 1954. He was kind, hard working and fiercely devoted to his family.
elevated wSEkS Jim passed suddenly while onboard the Island Princess cruise ship doing what he loved most with his beloved wife, Janet. Jim was an incredibly caring and devoted father to Carmelo (Julie), Kristen (Giancarlo Trimarchi) and Frank James (Daniela Caprara). He was the kindest Grandpa/Papa to his four granddaughters, Laura, Ella, Maya and Lia. His faithful furry companion, Stella, was always by his side.
elevated wSEkS Jim was predeceased by his father, Carmelo. He was a loving son to his mother, Serafina, and will be missed by his three brothers, Anthony (Diane), John (Sandra), Frank (Dee), and their families. Jim was a cherished son-in-law to Antonina and Francesco Zambito, and treasured brother-in-law to Nina (Antonino Todaro) and Josie (Frank Blandino). He will be remembered with love by his nieces, nephews and cousins.
elevated wSEkS Starting at 10 years old, Jim worked alongside his family at multiple locations of Ferlisi Brothers, a well-known, independent grocery chain for 37 years. Later, he pursued one of his passions, a love of cars, and served family, friends and customers for another 20 years starting at Tomlinson Pontiac Buick GMC and finishing at NewRoads Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC.
elevated wSEkS Family and friends will be received at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery & Funeral Home, 8361 Yonge Street in Thornhill. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Canadian Diabetes Association are greatly appreciated.
Working alongside Jim for a number of years, I don’t think I ever met a more easy-going, gentleman in my life. It was a pleasure to know and work with Jim and may his family find strength at this difficult time in what I’m sure is many wonderful memories. You will be missed Jim.
There are no words that can comfort your pain at this most difficult time. I offer my most sincere and heartfelt condolences. Your family is in my daily prayers. His kind soul will always be remembered.
Jim was our neighbour and we would often meet on the street or in front of our house as he was walking Stella. He was a down-to-earth person who stopped for a quick chat, and genuinely cared about those around him.
We will certainly miss seeing him on our street with his beloved, gentle Stella.
Rest In Peace Jim.
Our condolences to the Family.

Please accept our sincere condolences. We will keep you in our prayers, God Bless.

Dear Jim,
You left so unexpectedly, and now my heart is filled with pain and sorrow. Even though we were separated by distance, we worked closely together for over ten years, leaving a deep impact on my life. Your wisdom, kindness, and support were always there, and without you, the world feels a bit colder. I will always cherish the time we shared and value every moment. May your soul find peace.
