elevated SIoB1 It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Viola Coulombe (nee Lanthier) of Scarborough, at her Shepherd Village home on March 3, 2023 in her 92nd year, surrounded by her family. She is survived by and will be forever remembered by her brother, Roger(Joan), her 6 children: Rick (Debbie), Jeanette (Lloyd), Raymond (Jennifer), Paul (Susan), Michael (Sandra), & Robert (Karen); her 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and Fabricland. Born in Sudbury, Ontario, Viola was predeceased by her parents, Rose Emma and Jean-Baptiste (Wilfrid), her loving husband of 68 years, Marcel, her siblings Harvey, Bernadette, and Eliette. Viola was a genuinely humble and modest woman whose giving nature had no bounds. Her legendary sewing and knitting skills provided decades of warmth and comfort to family, friends, and communities worldwide until her final days. Viola could be regularly seen poolside at her backyard pool and her birthday celebration each summer with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
elevated SIoB1 In lieu of flowers, donations to Shepherd Village or the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
elevated SIoB1 Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our mom’s caregivers from CCAC and Staff Relief Healthcare Services Inc for their personal attentive care over her final days.

Prayers for all of you and your families on this painful loss. May your mother live among you through her sweet memories and unconditional love.
Aunt Vi was a kind and loving person with a warm smile. When my Mom married her brother Roger she welcomed Paul and me into the family with open arms. Aunt Vi will be dearly missed.
Ann and I want to send our deepest condolences to you all at this very sad time.
We enjoyed our recent visit, reminiscing about all of the wonderful family times that we enjoyed with Aunt Vi and Uncle Marcel.
Especially the times out by the pool, (being pushed in by “the Coulombe boys” 😉), or playing “Atari” with Robert while the adults played cards.
These memories will always hold a special place in my heart!
I will like to express my heartfelt condolences to your entire family for the irreparable loss of your beautiful mother, aunt and sister. The few weeks I got to spend with her were quite remarkable and unforgettable. GGma, as I fondly called her was a very sweet, humble, and loving person. From the very first time we met, it was easy to see that she had a kind and loving soul. As the weeks went by I bonded with her as a caregiver and someone I looked forward to seeing every day. The beautiful memories I will cherish are the laughs we shared, especially when we watched one of her favorite TV game show(Let’s Make a deal). She was so courageous and resilient through it all until her last days. She loved to knit, she had a beautiful collection of baby outfits she was working on knitted with so much love for her latest great-grandbaby.
I feel very privileged and honored to have spent her last days with her. She will be sorely missed.
Dear Jeanette, thanks to you for the warmth and great reception that you always demonstrated towards me. I pray that the good Lord will grant you and your family the fortitude to bear this loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time…
Love, Havie.
Nos plus sincères condoléances. Elle était la douce et fière dernière représentante de sa génération dans la famille Coulombe. Nos pensées vous accompagnent dans ce deuil chers cousins et cousines.
Our deepest condolences to all of the family for this lovely lady. Thinking of everyone and cherish all of your memories with her.
Our heartfelt condolences to the large and loving family that is Viola’s legacy. Always graceful and gracious with a great sense of humility and humor whenever we had the pleasure of being in her company at family events.
Sincères condoléances de la part de Luc et Andrée Jubinville.
Dieu vous bénisse et vous garde.
Our deepest condolences to the entire family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
GGma has been a force in the family and will be deeply missed. It is with joy and fond memories of watching her dance at Mitch / Nisha’s wedding.
Heartfelt condolences to her family, a legacy she beautifully left.
With deep respect and love,
Ian and Kanchan Prinsloo
Condolences to our very good friends and loved ones. Many angels will guide Viola and she will have much peace and love with our lord.
Love you guys so much.
Hugs and bigger hugs.
I have so many great memories of Matante Vi and my trips to Toronto will not be the same. She holds a very dear place in my heart.
Our deepest condolences to the Coulombe family on the loss of your mother and grandmother. She was such a lovely lady and will be surely missed by all who knew her.
Toutes nos sympathies aux enfants et petits-enfants à l’occasion du décès de Vi.
Nous la connaissions peu, mais nous en gardons le souvenir d’une femme travaillante et dévouée. Qu’elle repose en paix!
My deepest sympathy on the passing of your mother. I remember her well and what an amazing sewer she was. I have very happy memories of learning to skate on your backyard rink. My condolences to the family
Condolences to all the Coulombe family on the loss of your dear mother. Your mom and dad were so good to my mom before her death in 2012. I remember your parents well and wish them blessings forever. They were beautiful people.
