elevated A4BMy Obituary

elevated A4BMy Peacefully, at her retirement home on Tuesday, June 29th, 2022 at the age of 92 years. Wanda Mary (Wendy) Azzarello, beloved wife of (late) Santo Azzarello for 48 years and cherished daughter of Kazimierz and Jadwiga Bielecki. Loving mother of John and his wife Anna, Paul and Lee, and Michael and his wife Geraldine. Cherished gramma to Francesca, Anthony and Jacqueline.

elevated A4BMy Wendy was born on route to the Niagara region, following her parent’s immigration to Canada from Poland.  The family settled in the Jordan Village area.   Landing in midst of the Great Depression in the early 1930’s, the family picked fruit and lived on a farm to survive on wages of approximately a $1 per hour.  Wendy graduated from a high school in St. Catharines and then went onto college courses to become a proficient secretary.  Soon after, her passion for travel led her to Monaco, other parts of Europe and then to Bermuda. Following her return to Canada, she met her “catch”, Santo, married and John, Paul and Michael followed.  In her forties, Wendy joined the Toronto Real Estate Board and successfully practiced real estate sales for 30+ years. Santo’s family, Mom’s loveable, fun Lacewood bridge group, Winnipeg friends, cottage friends, Colonial Retirement Home family, and real estate friends surrounded her life which included a passion for collecting farm antiques near the family cottage.

elevated A4BMy Wendy’s care for the people around her, her astute sharp memory respect for others and professional courtesy will be missed by all of us fortunate to have been in her circle.
