We are heartbroken. With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of William Patrick Myers on October 11, 2024, at the age of 83. Beloved husband for 55 wonderful years to Roseanne (nee Donnelly). Loving father of Neil (Bernadette), Mary-Sheila (Steven), and Leila. Proud, loving Grandpa of Erin, Shannon, Colleen, Hannah, Michael, Olivier and Liam. Dear brother to Elizabeth and brother-in-law to Frank Donnelly (Deloris). Uncle to Matthew (Mary), Peter (Jennifer) and David (Shelley). Recently predeceased by brother-in-law Peter Donnelly. Bill was a devoted family man with a firm Catholic faith, a commitment to serving others, and a strong moral foundation.
elevated OM0iL Bill was born in County Tipperary, Ireland, to Hannah and Martin Myers. The family immigrated to Canada in 1950. Bill graduated from St. Michael’s College School (1959), and earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering from The University of Toronto (1965). While working at IBM, he met the love of his life, Roseanne, in Poughkeepsie, NY. They married and settled in Toronto. Before long, they moved to Thunder Bay, Windsor, Ottawa, Potomac, Maryland, and then back to Ottawa until finally settling in Richmond Hill for forty-four years before recently moving to Thornhill.
elevated OM0iL Bill loved the outdoors, enjoying annual fishing and hunting adventures in Quebec with dear friends. He especially relished time at the cottage on Georgian Bay. Bill enjoyed engaging in conversations with all people, curious about their paths in life. He had a deep interest in politics and economics, and never missed the opportunity to engage on these subjects with others.
elevated OM0iL Bill’s passion was Duplicate Bridge. He was an avid and accomplished player, achieving the status of Ruby Life Master. He was a lifelong student of the game, and enjoyed taking newer players under his wing. His favorite bridge partner was Roseanne. Bill served on the Board of Directors at the Thornhill Golf & Country Club where he played lots of bridge and had many great friends.
elevated OM0iL Bill will be held dearly in the hearts of his family and friends and will never be forgotten. He is lovingly remembered for his immense generosity, hearty laugh, intellect, interest in the world and devotion to family.
elevated OM0iL Donations in honour of Bill can be made to St. Mary Immaculate Church (Richmond Hill), where he was a parishioner for 45 years and had served as Chair of the Finance Committee for many years.

Both Colin and I send our deepest condolences. Bridge at the club will just not ever be the same without Bill. He was such an excellent player and he will be truly missed.
Sincere condolences from one of Bill’s UofT classmates. Though our paths never crossed after UofT I have fond memories of Bill.
Leiles and family,
When we were younger, your Dad always asked intriguing questions, told us great stories, and listened to the details of our little lives. Although I haven’t seen him in probably 25+ years, I can still hear his low and powerful, yet settling voice. He loved his family to bits, was so proud of each of you, and was happy to boast about your accomplishments.
Bill will be sadly missed. He was a very special soul and a pleasure to be with. Our deepest condolences go out to Roseanne and Family.
Our deepest condolences go out to Roseanne and Family.

Dear Roseanne,
Our condolences to you and your children, and prayers for the eternal repose of the soul of your beloved Bill among the saints and angels in heaven. May you find great comfort in the wonderful memories with Bill and the love of our beloved Blessed Mother Mary to you, your children and grandchildren.
Sincerely yours, Cecil and Fil Red
My deepest condolences Roseanne to you and to your family. Bill was a true gentleman, nice and friendly. May his soul rest in peace and may his memory be eternal.
Dear Roseanne, I am sorry for your loss and inevitable pain with Bill’s passing.
I very much always enjoyed visiting with Bill
Great conversations on mutual topics of interest
While waiting for him to finish on the phone, I realized he was giving the other end of the line a real piece of his mind
But, what I focused on was the gentlemanly way he proceeded, without being offensive but making his point that had to for sure, sink in on the other side thus NOT making an enemy
A real revelation to me and an enlightenment that I’ll never forget
Rest in peace Bill
I’m very sorry that you’re gone
My deepest condolences to Roseanne and her family for the unexpected demise of her husband Bill. May he receive the warmest welcome in heaven by our Lord Jesus Christ, Mother Mary, and all the angels and saints. May he rest in peace.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Roseanne, I am sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. He truly was a mainstay at bridge and a respected player. It was through his efforts we modernized the club’s playing equipment (dealer machine, bridgemates and even a new computer for the director) which happened to be me. I know Thornhill will miss him.
Dear Roseanne, I am very sorry to hear of the death of your husband and my first cousin Bill. I had the pleasure of visiting with you a number of years ago and will always remember the welcome I received from you. Bill went out of his way to ensure that I was given the tour of Toronto including a trip up what was then the tallest building in the world.
Bill visited with us some years ago and though he was only 9 years old when when Auntie Hanna,Betty and himself emigrated to Canada he still had memories of his native Clogheen and was very interested in the history of the place.
Again I offer condolences to you, Betty, Neil, Mary-Sheila and Lelia.
Dear Roseanne and Family,
