elevated gNPAC Its with deep sadness that the family of William Showkowy announces his passing on August 20. 2023 at Trillium Hospital, Mississauga. William was born January 8, 1932 in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. He was the son of Nick (Nikola) Showkowyand Katherine (Pirigh) Showkowy who had both immigrated to Canada from the Ukraine. They had 3 children: William, Ann (Dolishny) and Peter. William grew up on a farm near Oshawa Ontario where he learned the value and discipline of hard work at a young age. He became an employee of the Ford Motor Company (Oakville Plant) on January 4, 1954. He worked in a number of departments with a perfect job attendance record. He never missed a single day’s work in 45 years which was a testament to his great stamina and company loyalty. He was a determined, self sufficient individual whose interests included fishing, reading, cars, travelling, dancing and western movies. He lived a long and healthy life, only succumbing to dementia at the age of 91 years.
elevated gNPAC He will be joining his loving wife, travelling companion and dancing partner Maria Erent at Assumption Catholic Cemetery (ENTOMBMENT) who died earlier this summer on June 13, 2023. Both Maria and William shared the same birthday January 8 which allowed them to celebrate their birthdays together as a couple in their shared home located in Mississauga, Ontario Canada. He is survived by his sons William Showkowy and John Showkowy; his grandchildren Megan Showkowy and Simon Showkowy; and his his step daughters Mirjana Erent and Josie (Josipa) Erent. He is also survived by his sister Ann Dolishny who is currently 93 years of age. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that donations be made to www.onetreeplanted.org, a well respected global reforestation charity.
Deepest Sympathy
My deepest sympathy as you remember William today. Sending prayers and hugs to both families this day
My condolences to you, your sister, and the Showkowy family.
