Following the interment, a reception to celebrate Wilma’s life will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, where family and friends will gather to honour her memory and share in the love she so freely gave.

It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss that we announce the passing of Wilma Marian Alvis, whom many knew as “Sweetie”, peacefully left this world on February 2, 2025, at the age of 74. A woman of unwavering faith, Wilma touched the lives of all who knew her with her kindness, humility, and generosity.

elevated QOYlg Born on September 3, 1950, Wilma was the beloved wife of Rally (Maurice Alvis). Together, they shared a life filled with unwavering support for one another. She was the cherished mother of two sons, Cheyenne and the late Sheean, the proud grandmother of Alyssa (and her husband, Michael), Amerie, and great-grandmother to Olivia. Dear sister of the late Herschel, and loved Sister-in-law to Yvonne, Maryann and Jeromey. Wilma’s family was the cornerstone of her life, and her love for them was boundless.

elevated QOYlg Wilma also dedicated years of service working for the Toronto Police Service in a clerical role, where she contributed to the community with the same care and compassion that defined her personal life. 

elevated QOYlg Wilma was a woman who embodied selflessness and compassion in every aspect of her life. Her deep faith was the guiding force behind her unconditional love for others, and she gave freely of her time and resources to those in need. Whether through acts of charity, a kind word, or a listening ear, Wilma’s presence was always a source of comfort and peace. Her spirit was gentle yet strong, and she had an incredible ability to make everyone feel valued and loved.

elevated QOYlg A lover of music, Wilma found joy in playing the piano, filling her home with melodies that brought warmth and serenity. She also had a passion for travel, embracing new experiences and making cherished memories along the way.

elevated QOYlg Wilma’s legacy is one of compassion, kindness, and devotion to her family, friends, and community. She leaves behind a beautiful example of how to live a life full of grace, generosity, and love. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
